2 Year Old Class

The School For Young Children  »  2 Year Old Class

At SYC, we have one 2-Year Class Class.  Parents can choose to send their child on Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday or all 5 days.  In order for a child to be enrolled in our 2-Year Old Class, the child must have turned 2 on or before August 31st of the enrolling year.  Our 2-Year Old Class is structured to prepare students for the 3’s by teaching them how to share, how we should treat our friends and how fun it can be to come to school.  Each day consists of free play, group activities, circle time, snack, outside play (weather permitting) and school related activities.  Students learn about Letterland each week as we focus on a new character/letter each week.  Students also work on weekly Bible verses and activities related to our particular theme of the week.  In circle time, students hear books read aloud and enjoy having music played in their classroom where they can sing and dance.  Artwork is also a fun part of their day when they can paint and imagine.  Pastor Rob holds exciting chapel services with the students twice monthly. Our 2′s love playing, exploring and making new friends!

Meet Our Teachers

Logan Sherwood is our lead teacher for the 2-year-old class. She has been with SYC for 3 years and previously was assistant teacher in the 3-year-old class. Mrs. Logan has a Batchelor of Science degree from Appalachian State University. Mrs. Logan and her husband have three children and attend Lenoir Presbyterian Church where they teach Sunday School. She likes working at SYC because she loves the children, can teach them about Jesus and enjoys working with her coworkers in a Christian environment.

Crystal Vazquez joined us as our Assistant Teacher in the 2-year-old class this year.  Both of Mrs. Crystal’s children attended SYC. She and her husband operate a popular local ice cream shop and restaurant in Lenoir and Morganton. Mrs. Crystal loves being a part of the SYC team and working with our little ones.
