Are all of your teachers certified?
- Yes, all of our lead teachers are certified with NC Credentials.
Are all of your teachers certified in First Aid and CPR?
- Yes, all of our lead teachers and assistant teachers are certified.
Do you lock your doors during school hours?
- Yes, we lock our doors during the hours of 9:15am to 11:45am. We also have a security monitoring system to provide additional security for our students.
Are parents welcome to come to the school during school hours?
- Of course!
Is Chapel a part of your program at SYC?
- Yes! Pastor Rob, who serves as the Senior Pastor at Lenoir Presbyterian Church, holds chapel services with our students two times monthly. We have a Chapel on our hall where we gather together for our chapel time.
Do you play outside each day?
- Yes. Outdoor play is structured into our program daily, weather permitting.
What if you can’t play outside?
- We have a Gross Motor Skill Room where the children go to play.
I have to be at work before 9. Do you offer Early Drop-off?
- Yes. We offer Early Morning Care beginning at 8am for an additional fee. Two members of our staff supervise EMC and for those parents who pay in advance, the fee is $3 per day, per use. For parents who use EMC as a drop off service, the Director will bill you at the end of the month, at a rate of $3 per day, per use. A statement will be issued at the end of the month to inform parents if they have a credit or balance due.
How does snack work?
- Snack is now provided each day by adding $6 to the monthly tuition, saving parents the task of bringing a snack on a rotating basis. We changed to this procedure in Fall 2017. Your child’s teachers will purchase snacks for the class, which may go along with their lesson plans and will follow the approved snack list.
